Medical College, East Africa
Welcome to the Medical College in East Africa. As part of the Faculty of Health Sciences we are working with the School of Nursing and Midwifery and Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya to build a new academic community that will provide outstanding health professional education, build strong programmes of research that support graduate student and postdoctoral training and provide programmes and services that will be relevant and have impact in the communities of East Africa.
We have the distinct advantage of being part of an over one hundred year history of service to the East African community through the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) that includes a broad range of community development and health care delivery services across East Africa. In addition, we are transforming the quality of health care with growth of the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi where we are building a Faculty of Health Sciences campus closely integrated to the growth of the hospital and the broader health care delivery system of the AKDN.
We are also focused on building quality public private partnerships with government that serves to increase quality and access and provides our students with relevant learning environments.
Our current Medical College programmes focus on postgraduate training in 9 disciplines across 8 departments with planning underway with nursing and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences to introduce innovative undergraduate medical education in 2015.
We have excellent international partners who provide great strength and opportunity for our growth as an academic health system stretching across East Africa. Please feel free to contact us if you do not find the information you need in the content of this website.
