Razi Allah Lone
Razi joins AKU-ISMC from Lahore, Pakistan. He has Masters degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Business Administration from the Lahore School of Economics. Razi comes to London driven purely by passion! He hopes that the rigorous MA Programme will define his doctoral ambitions in the areas of Islamic law, in general, and Hadith studies, in particular. He has contributed to the Encyclopaedia of Islamic Economics, read a paper on Riba (interest) at a conference in Kuala Lumpur, and served in the Islamic banking research-wing of an investment bank in Pakistan. Most recently, he was working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Management Sciences at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Lahore. He plays North Indian classical music on a bamboo flute, has taken classes in Philosophy and French (the latter as a direct result of his romance with the city of Paris) and trekked across Europe. He is passionate about writing, reading, collecting books, composing and reciting poetry and playing music.
"I look forward to great intellectual stimulation in the MA Programme, and hope to learn equally from the faculty and my colleagues. This programme will equip me to better appreciate the interplay of culture and religion in Muslim societies, and also give perspectives that will both shape and inform my goal of a PhD." - R Lone
