Alumni
AKU-ISMC have graduated three cohorts of students, several of which are working in the education and not-for-profit sectors. Others are undertaking doctoral studies in institutions such as Oxford University, University of London and the Free University Berlin. A list of former students is available here.

The Aga Khan University alumni foundation, founded in 1993, is the key method by which AKU alumni remain in contact with each other and the University. The Alumni Association consists of the North American Chapter in USA and the European Chapter in UK with its base and Central Office at the Karachi Campus.

Internships
AKU-ISMC aims to offer students learning opportunities through internships with a range of institutions. Students are able to use the links made available to them through the Aga Khan Development Network, of which Aga Khan University is a part.

In 2008, AKU-ISMC students participated in an information session about the Aga Khan Academies. The Aga Khan Academies are an integrated network of schools located in Africa, South and Central Asia and the Middle East offering girls and boys an international standard of education from pre-primary to upper secondary levels with a rigorous academic and leadership experience.

In 2009, AKU-ISMC students participated in an information session about  internships with various projects undertaken by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. The session was led by Shiraz Alibhai (AKTC) and focused primarily on the Trusts' Historic Cities Project; the Project is a collaborative initiative with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Architecture and Planning.

As partnerships with other academic institutions, NGOs and businesses continue to expand, AKU-ISMC graduates will be able to embark on a range of exciting and relevant internship opportunities.
