Research and Publications
Research at AKU-ISMC concentrates on issues critical to all contemporary societies. In particular, it focuses on issues that remain relatively unexplored within Muslim environments.
The Institute concentrates on two broad research themes:
A third inter-related theme on Governance and Law is being developed.
Disseminating research through its publications programme, the Institute responds to an urgent need for representative scholarship about Muslim societies and cultures.
The publications aim to function as effective vehicles for disseminating alternative perspectives about Muslim societies from those prevailing in the larger academic community and mainstream media.
