Partnerships and Linkages

The Aga Khan University Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC) has initiated partnerships and linkages with a number of institutions around the world. Partnerships and linkages with institutions both in the UK and abroad serve to expand the reach of the Institute, both intellectually and geographically, as well as provide an opportunity for furthering the objectives of the Institute.

Catholic University of Portugal
AKU-ISMC leads collaboration between AKU and CUP, and will work with the Faculties of Law and Theology and the Institute of Oriental Studies.
Institut Bourguiba Pour les Langues Vivantes, Tunisia
Language Immersion Programme of the MA in Muslim Cultures offered at the Bourguiba School.
The Institute of Ismaili Studies, UK
AKU-ISMC and IIS continue to work together in a variety of ways, including seminars, short courses, and intellectual collaboration.
Simon Fraser University, Canada
Collaboration in the organisation of 2008 conference on Cosmopolitanisms in Muslim Contexts; summer courses on Muslim cultures.
University of Texas, USA​
Islamic Cultural Studies Programme, in which AKU works with the University of Texas to provide professional development for teachers about Muslim cultures.
