Master of Arts in Muslim Cultures

Overview

AKU-ISMC offers a two-year, full-time MA in Muslim Cultures from AKU's London campus. This unique degree offers a distinctive way of understanding Muslim cultures in all of their geographical, linguistic and cultural diversity.

By combining courses from a range of disciplines within the humanities and social sciences, students are able to study the cultural and intellectual history within which religious ideas and practices have meaning.

Through this approach, cultural manifestations such as art, poetry and architecture are examined alongside doctrine, law and religious practice.

The MA Programme seeks to provide students with the skills to place Muslim cultures within their historical contexts, enabling them to comprehensively understand contemporary Muslims societies.  For more details please see the MA in Muslim Cultures - Programme Specification.
