Class of 2010 Student Profiles

Joud Kayali, from Syria, is interested in architecture. As an architect, she believes that architecture is a mirror which reflects human needs, and that it provides a window onto particular societies. However, Joud is interested also in the structure of human society as much of the structure of buildings. Her personal interests include reading and writing.

"AKU-ISMC provides a path to new thought and provides a way to understand the complexities of Muslim societies through critical analysis. I feel as though the Institute resembles a large family - the Institute is occupied by warm staff that are very supportive."​
