The Institute of Educational Development East Africa was established in 2006, with a mission to work with teachers and educational leaders throughout East Africa in providing high quality training through masters programmes, certificate courses, short courses and workshops. We are proud to have graduates of our programmes now working with us in the IED, with others in key leadership positions across the region.
Modeling good practice in schools, a variety of teaching and assessment methods are used. Teaching is informed through scholarship and faculty members’ own research. We are determined to provide high quality education for all participants on our courses, reflecting our commitment to working with partners across East Africa in improving educational opportunities, to the benefit of teachers, pupils, schools and communities.
We offer a field based contextually relevant and rigorous Masters of Education programme and our Centre for Continuing Education and Life Long Learning delivers programmes specifically designed to meet educational training needs across a range of subject areas. Through our programmes we support the development of professionals that work in education across the region, working towards raising quality by providing guidance and mentorship, transferring knowledge and skills, and developing expertise.
