Academic Qualification and Training

Muhammad Islam is a professional statistician with six years progressive experience in support of biomedical and health sciences applications. He received his MSc (Statistics) from University of Karachi, Pakistan, and he also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics, University of Karachi. His responsibilities include teaching/facilitating in graduate and undergraduate programmes particularly in relation to epidemiology and biostatistics; undertake independent research and/or participate in research activities; participate in the Community Health Sciences (CHS) statistical consulting service; carryout administrative responsibilities related to teaching and consultancy and undertake other scholarly activities. He has 27 indexed publications.

Research Interests

My areas of interest and strength are linear regression, logistics regression, multivariate analysis, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, longitudinal analysis and design and analysis of experiments. My specialty is robust regression and robust statistics. I am quite comfortable with SPSS, SAS, and most other popular software.
