Academic Qualification and Training

Dr. SYED FARID-UL-HASNAIN has done M.Sc. Epidemiology (Aga Khan University Karachi), M.B.B.S (Dow Medical College) ECFMG certified (USA).

Dr Farid-ul-Hasnain is a Senior Instructor in 'Population and Reproductive Health' Program at the Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) with major involvement in undergraduate teaching (PBL tutorials, Large class format sessions, facilitating research projects), facilitating/coordinating short courses on 'Reproductive Health Research', developing research proposals, and participating in ongoing research and other related activities of 'Population and Reproductive Health Program'. In addition assisting course on 'Demography and survey methods" for MSc students. Besides that also had the experience of serving various committees both at the Departmental and University level.

Earlier involved in planning for the 'Problem Based Learning Curriculum' (PBL) for undergraduates at the University, and was the lead person from the CHS Department in designing and coordinating the curricular activities.

Also worked as a 'Health Systems Research Coordinator' in Family Health Project (funded by the World Bank) at Department of Community Health Sciences.

Panel paper on 'Informed consent: An Ethical Perspective from Pakistan' (supervised project) was accepted by the organizing committee of 3rd National Congress of Medical Ethics in Turkey 25-28 June 2003.

Poster presentation on "Prevalence and Risk factors for Underweight, Wasting and Stunting among children (<5 years) in Rural Sindh" in faculty research assembly at Aga Khan University 15-17 March 2005.

Assisted in reviewing articles and compiling data for "A review of research on maternal

health in Pakistan".The policy series in Reproductive Health no.1, Reproductive Health

Research Working Group (RHRWG).

Abstract   accepted as a poster presentation on "Assessing the effects of training on knowledge and skills of health personnel: a case study from the family health project in Sindh, Pakistan; in faculty research assembly at Aga Khan University 7-8 March 2006.
