Project Description   The Aga Khan University has recently acquired real estate for the future expansion of its campus in Karachi, Nairobi and Arusha. The selected intern will be responsible for working with a team to develop a Business Plan for a Real Estate Unit for the development of a land use strategy.
Responsibilities   The selected intern will be responsible for working with a team to develop a Business Plan for a Real Estate Unit which includes reviewing the market opportunity, competitive environment, presenting a strategy with options to pursue, determining financial and human resource requirements and presenting a financial plan along with a feasibility study.
Eligibility  
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or a Master's programme in the field of Urban Land Economics, Finance, Accounting, Property Management or Engineering
  • Strong analytical ability and business acumen
  • Strong computer skills e.g. Excel and PowerPoint is essential
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Exposure to project development in real estate would be an asset
Expected Project Outcome   The expected project outcome will be to develop a Business Plan for the Real Estate Unit
Benefits  

The selected intern will be provided with furnished accommodations as well as a living stipend to cover minimal daily expenses. All visa processing costs will also be covered.

Please note that air travel is not covered by AKU, the students should have a minimum access to savings for the duration of this internship.
