Title of Placement Management Intern

Project Description   Intern will be working in the COO's office to support the development and implementation of various organisational projects, including organisational development, and service planning initiatives. You will be working with external agencies to influence health policy (Private-Public Partnerships). Implement a patient referral strategy, outreach centres and more.
Responsibilities   The incumbent will be responsible for:
  • Assist in developing and evaluating the programme management of a care delivery model
  • Support in Finalizing a clinical service profile to assist in the master planning exercise for AKUH in Nairobi
  • Proposal writing for new initiatives (i.e. Outreach centres)
  • Prepare evaluations/status reports and concept papers for the CEO & Board Committee on current initiatives and programmes
  • Assist in literature searches, writing research and scientific reports
  • Attend and participate in journal club discussion on research papers
Eligibility  
  • Enrolment in a Bachelor's or a Master's programme in Health Science, Management, Business Administration, Health Informatics or related fields
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self starter with great leadership skills
  • Able to work independent and handle crisis situations
Expected Project Outcome   Completion of initiative projects, beginning new initiatives and advising on long term direction of programmes.
Benefits  

The selected intern will be provided with furnished accommodations as well as a living stipend to cover minimal daily expenses. All visa processing costs will also be covered.

Please note that air travel is not covered by AKU, the students should have a minimum access to savings for the duration of this internship.
