Introduction
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of ​Manager, Resource Development​​​​​​.
Responsibilities

​As a member of the Annual Fund campaign staff, the appointee will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining annual giving programmes in Pakistan, and will oversee donor identification, cultivation, stewardship and other donor relations activities.

This position will work closely with the Director, Fundraising, as well as collaborate with the rest of the Resource Development team, to carry out the strategies to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
 
Specifically s/he will be responsible for:
  • overall management of the Patient Behbud Society for AKUH’s campaign and staff and volunteer fundraisers in an effort to build relationships, maintain records and raise funds to support AKUH’s annual operating needs
  • management of volunteer committees
  • soliciting funds independently and will be assigned annual fundraising targets
  • attending all annual fund project/ strategy review sessions and University staff meetings
  • assisting Director, Fundraising in preparing detailed quarterly analysis, annual operating plan, and five-year strategic plan for the department, including goals, timetables and budgets
  • assisting in budget management and analysis
  • maintaining appropriate records and preparing follow-up analyses and reports of solicitation efforts for the assigned fund-raising programmes
  • actively participating in development of donor relations activities including, but not limited to, attendance at university functions and personal solicitation of donors.
  • performing other duties as assigned by the Director, Fundraising, which may include new emerging fundraising projects for AKU.
Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • a Master’s degree with proven experience in relationship management and /or fundraising
  • prior knowledge about market research, preparation of marketing and sales plans and the ability to generate funds independently and meet assigned targets are essential
  • knowledge of higher education fundraising and overall annual giving progr​amme functions, and  activities/events occurring at universities
  • overwhelming enthusiasm and motivation with strong organizational skills
  • ability to demonstrate a great deal of persistence, and to meet tight deadlines
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • capability to work independently, and as part of a team, utilizing professional discretion and judgment
  • ability to recognize and maintain security of confidential information
  • excellent analytical skills to anticipate/identify issues and develop goals/plans for resolution and implementation
  • ability to translate plans into action and to meet objectives and prepare reports of results
  • working knowledge of and experience with relational databases, spread sheets and word processing applications.
