Business Analyst for AKU website

Introduction
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Business Analyst for AKU website.
Responsibilities

​The appointee will act as a conduit between the business and the technical teams by gathering requirements from the business users and working with the technical team to propose solutions. Specifically s/he will be responsible to:

  • lead in the development of web/interfaces and applications, i.e.
    • lead collaborations / design sessions with staff members from other campus and departments in the development of web/interfaces and applications
    • elicit, translate, simplify and document requirements
    • own the functional specifications document (solution design document) on behalf of the business
    • drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests
    • support post-development testing and user acceptance
  • participate in campus-based work groups to identify and respond to issues and make necessary changes to applications
  • coordinate and manage change across the different user departments
  • perform quality assurance on all major deliverables of the website
  • research and present ways to improve the  usability of the website
  • follow-up with internal and external teams to get the specifications documented
  • conduct presentations, trainings and prototype demos for the business users before go-live.
Requirements

​Candidates should have: 

  • a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, such as Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Business Administration or Information Systems
  • at least three years’ experience in a client facing role doing business analysis for information systems
  • excellent skills in written and verbal communication, including technical writing
  • expertise of data modeling and analysis techniques
  • understanding of systems engineering concepts
  • ability to analyze user requirements and work with the technical team to come up with well thought out solutions
  • strong interpersonal skills to liaise with business users at different level across the organization
  • ability to document procedural issues related to applications
  • ability to pay attention to details and follow-through.
