Introduction

​The Blended and Digital Learning Network (B&DL) has been established to lead the development and application of information and communication technologies and associated pedagogies to an increasing spectrum of academic programmes across AKU. B&DL anticipates a range of approaches, from applying digital learning software and learning management systems to on campus courses, through mixed digital/face-to face delivery, to purely online courses. B&DL-net will become a central feature of all AKU programmes, enabling more cross entity common courses, access to those outside of our campuses, and enhancement of our offerings at our several planned centres for professional and executive education. 

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of ​Assistant Manager, Operations for Blended and Digital Learning​.
Responsibilities

​The incumbent will ensure coordination, management and implementation of strategic planning and operational activities for the AKU Network of Blended and Digital Learning. Working with the core B&DL team and the Provost’s Office in Karachi, s/he will be responsible to jointly achieve results and ensure that all aspects of B&DL operations are completed on time on budget and as per the scope and quality.

Specifically s/he will be responsible to:

  • manage faculty development and student support programme activities (e.g. workshops, mentorships, course development lifecycle, orientation etc.)
  • liaise with entities to establish and manage the implementation of operational programmes in blended learning
  • organize and standardize relationship between IT, Library, AV, faculty, entity and B&DL team
  • provide oversight on the day-to-day operational requirements of the B&DL network
  • manage workload allocation effectively and monitor its progress towards completion
  • assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets and strategic plans
  • prepare analytical reports and provide project management support on all B&DL initiatives
  • develop and manage the implementation of tactical plans for achieving the goals of the B&DL network
  • ensure on-going research and continuous improvement in every aspect of B&DL network.
Requirements

​Candidates should have:

  • Bachelors / Masters of Business Administration in Educational Management, IT, social sciences or any other related fields
  • at least four years’ experience of managing teams and operations, educational projects or programmes in the education sector
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • excellent computer skills (e.g. Office, Project Management software and general electronic communications)
  • high personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation
  • ability to meet deadlines and make progress without direct supervision
  • strong knowledge of education and technology
  • excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to develop a good rapport across different teams
  • willingness to learn new approaches, methods and work practices quickly.
