​Assistant Professor


​The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a part of the University’s Women and Child Health Division, which deals with the continuum of maternal, fetal and child health issues.

The department offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services for women including high risk obstetrical care, infertility, foetal assessment, routine obstetric, reproductive endocrinology, gynaecological oncology and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of routine gynaecological disorders. It also offers a four-year residency training programme.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of ​Assistant Professor.

The incumbent will be expected to:

  • conduct outpatient clinics on weekly basis
  • perform full day theatre
  • each undergraduate students
  • direct and support the residency training programme
  • participate in institutional CME and Public Awareness programme
  • participate in the department’s administrative committee
  • conduct research on topics of interest in the department and publish at least one original paper each year
  • coordinate different training courses independently
  • formulate, for education, the objectives of a course and appropriate instructional strategies, teach effectively and evaluate the recipients and the course
  • define, for research, a research project, secure a competitive grant for it, undertake research, synthesize research findings, publish and disseminate the conclusions to a wider audience
  • participate in national and international academic medical education conferences and symposiums.

Candidates should have:

  • completed structured residency training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and additional fellowship recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, or equivalent (Royal College or American Board certification)
  • at least two years’ experience as Senior Instructor / equivalent in a reputable institution
  • excellent clinical skills related to Obstetrics & Gyneacology.
