The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services and quality care to children. It imparts the best possible undergraduate and postgraduate training and do community oriented research of public health importance. The Department consists of a group of dedicated full-time and honorary faculty to perform the above task. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising of 65 beds, a neonatal unit with facility of admitting 10 neonates along with ventilatory support to eight neonates at a time, a dedicated paediatric ICU and post cardiac ICU and round the clock critical care looked after by fully trained paediatric medicaland nursing staff.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor or Senior Instructor, Paediatric Critical Care.

The incumbent will be expected to:

  • have an independent consultant status and provide accessible, compassionate, ethical and evidence-based care to patients in an academic setting
  • supervise pediatric residents in Critical Care rotations
  • lead in Paediatric critical care training of fellows
  • organize different training courses and research symposiums pertaining to Paediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • undertake research related to Paediatric Critical Care
  • participate in the departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.

Candidates should have:

  • completed structured postgraduate training in Paediatrics and FCPS, MRCP, American Board or equivalent qualifications in Paediatrics
  • two years’ fellowship (or equivalent) training in Paediatric Intensive Care from a reputable institution.

Additionally, candidates for Assistant Professor should have at least two years’ experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent in a reputable institution and demonstrated scholarship through research, publications and/or contribution to education.
