NAFC WINS AKU SPORTS CENTRE SIX-A-SIDE
RAMADAN FOOTBALL TROPHY
The final of the AKU Sports Centre Six-a-Side Ramadan Football
Tournament 2005 was played on Saturday, October 29, 2005 evening.
The National Athletics Football Club (NAFC) clinched the Ramadan
Football Trophy beating Aga Khan Gymkhana (Green) by 02-01 goals.
The exciting match was played neck to neck each team trying to
take a lead and at half time the score was 01-Nil goal in favour
of NAFC. Main scorer for the winners was Mehmood Raza who scored
two goals. The first goal scored in the 5th minute of the 1st
half and second in the 19th minute of the 2nd half while for the
losers their scorer was Arif Hussain who scored the only goal
in the 2nd minute of the 2nd half. Messer's Mohd. Muslim and Zaman
Ghani refereed the final match.
Mr. Ghulam Abbas Baloch, Vice President Pakistan Football Federation
in presence of Hanif Shairff, Sr. Manager Administrative Services
and Riaz Akbar Contractor, Chief Organizer and Manager AKU Sports
Centre distributed the prizes among the players. The NAFC Caption
Mehmood Raza received the Winning Trophy while AKG (Green) skipper
Inayat Sayani received the Runner's-up Trophy. Khayyam Juma of
Laurention Football Club (LFC) was awarded the Best Player of
the Tournament Award and Abrar Haji of AKG (Green) was given the
Highest Scorer Award (06 goals) while a special Consolation Prize
was given to Mehmood Raza of National Athletics Football Club
for demonstrating excellent skills in the Football Tournament.
The Chief Guest Mr. Ghulam Abbas Baloch paid tributes to the efforts
of AKU Sports Centre Organizers for organizing such healthy activities
especially for the youths and congratulated both the teams on
their success. He emphasized to the Organizers that such Tournaments
should be arranged on regular basis for the promotion of Football
amongst the youth. Mr. Riaz Akbar Contractor, Chief Organizer
and Manager AKU Sports Centre thanked the guests, the participating
teams and the technical officials for all the support in organizing
the successful tournament.
