2ND AKU INTER UNIVERSITY THROWBALL TOURNAMENT 2006 IANUGURATED

The colourful inaugural ceremony of the 2nd Inter University Throwball Tournament (for girls) organized by Aga Khan University (AKU) was held on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the AKU Sports Centre Gymnasium. Eight University Teams (students from five Medical & Dental and three other professional Universities) representing reputable Educational Institutions across Karachi were present in their colorful sports uniforms. Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Ziauddin Medical University (ZMU), Jinnah Medical University (JMU), Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC), Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Greenwich University (GU) and Aga Khan University Medical College (AKU-MC) are taking part in the tournament. The teams have been divided into two pools and the round matches of the tournament would be played on league basis at the AKU Sports Centre Gymnasium.

Ms. Nafisa Dossa, Sr. Manager, Personnel Policies and Compensation, Human Resources, Aga Khan University officially inaugurated the Throwball Tournament along with Riaz Akbar Contractor, Chief Organizer and Manager, AKU Sports Centre, Hanif M. Shariff, Sr. Manager AKU Administrative Services, Karim Mughal, Principal, Govt. College of Physical Education, Karachi, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee. The Teams and the officials were introduced to the Chief Guest who later serviced the ball.

On the opening day, four matches were played. The matches were supervised by Ms. Gulrukh, Chief Referee, Ms. Nureen Kanwal and Ms. Sana Ali, Side Referees. The official results are enclosed.

AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY (AKU) Vs ZIAUDDIN MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (ZMU)
AKU won the match by 2-Nil Games.
Score was: 1st Game: 15, 10 Points. 2nd Game: 15, 10 Points.
Good performance was shown by 1.Sarah Aftab 2. Asma Asmatullah from the Winner
While 1. Irum Shamshad performed well for the looser.

MATCH # 2

INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS MANGEMENT(IoBM)Vs JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (JMU)
IoBM won the match by 2-NIL Games.
Score was: 1st Game: 15, 05 Points. 2nd Game: 15, 02 Points.
Good performance was shown by 1.Bhirkha Bhasmin 2. Hira Safdar from the Winner while 1.Sabika Raza performed well for the looser.

INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (IBA) Vs FATIMA JINNAH DENTAL COLLEGE (FJDC)
IBA won the match by 2-NIL Games.
Score was: 1st Game: 15 ,00 Points. 2nd Game: 15, 03 Points.
Good performance was shown by 1. Bushra Tariq 2. Sana Bilal from the Winner
while 1.Asma Aslam performed well for the looser.

DOW UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES (DUHS) Vs. GREENWICH UNIVERSITY (GU)
DUHS won the match by 2- NIL Games.
Score was: 1st Game: 15, 02 Points. 2nd Game: 15, 04 Points.
