The Operating Room at Aga Khan University Hospital provides outpatient, in patient, elective, urgent and emergency surgical care to patients of all age groups. It is located on the first floor of the main office building.

The Operating Room Surgical suite consists of 11 operating rooms. The main workforce consists of dedicated and sub-specialty trained Operating Room technicians and nurses offering a wide range of surgical services including cardiac surgery, orthopaedics surgery, implant surgeries, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics surgery, urology, general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, paediatrics neurosurgery, otolaryngology and maxillo-facial surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, paediatric orthopedics and pain services.

The Surgical Day Care Unit offers an additional five mini-operating rooms and provides services for paediatrics, ENT, endoscopy, orthopedics, ophthalmic, oncology (MTX), vascular, plastic, lithotripsy and general surgeries.

The OR staff consists of Registered Nurses (Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Staff Nurses) and Technicians. All registered nurses are Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified and they undergo re-certification every two years.
