In line with Aga Khan University’s mission of education, the CME Service of the Department of Clinical Affairs, AKUH aims to satisfy the continuing medical education needs of the physician community. The main goals of CME are to ensure that physicians demonstrate their commitment to a lifelong education process and are clinically competent to deliver quality and safe care to their patients. In order to achieve these goals, the institution has designed a structured CME process that incorporates all the important elements of learning, needs assessment, planning and execution of CME programmes, continuous programme assessments, and continuous improvement.
One of the most frequent features of CME is a series of seminars and workshops designed for primary care physicians providing them with current, practical and evidence based updates on the management of common medical conditions that the physicians encounter in their day-to-day practice. In addition to this series, a number of specialty-based seminars, workshops, and symposiums are organised on a regular basis.
All registered participants are informed of forthcoming programmes through regular mail shots and emails. AKUH welcomes its valuable physician colleagues and referring physicians practicing in the community, to join these CME programmes.
