PhD in Health Sciences
The PhD programme in the Faculty of Health Sciences at AKU is central to its mission of producing research-based knowledge that is relevant to the developing world and which will have impact.
This is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary programme in health sciences with four specialities/streams.

The University’s PhD (Health Sciences) Programme is accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.

Research Projects and Supervisors
Applicants in Biological Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Population & Public Health are expected to identify potential research projects and PhD supervisors from the list of research projects and supervisors depending on their research interests. Applicants in the Nursing stream must develop a PhD research project after interacting with the relevant PhD supervisor as mentioned in the list.
Candidates are encouraged to interact with their potential faculty supervisors to know more about the relevant projects before entering this information in the application. In addition, each candidate is required to submit a statement of 500 words describing the reasons for the interest in the particular project and how the project meets with his/her career objectives.
