PhD Fellowship

AKU has established Fellowships that are awarded on merit to successful candidates for admission with an outstanding record of achievement and who register as a full-time student in an AKU PhD programme.   Students must have evidence-based recommendations from teachers and/or supervisors and high scores in the AKU admission test or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  An interview may be required.

Number of Awards:  Up to two

Value:  PhD tuition fees plus Rs. 8,000 per month for teaching assistance.

Renewability:  The award is renewable annually for three years following the initial grant of the Fellowship to students making satisfactory progress in their programme.

Satisfactory Progress:  Satisfactory progress is based upon the following:

History of course completion and progress through the programme;

Minimum grade point average of 3.0 in course work.

Note:  Failure to make satisfactory progress in the programme will result in the cancellation of the Fellowship.  Students losing their Fellowship may not be eligible for reinstatement.
