IED Professional Development Centre, Gilgit Library

Professional Development Centre Northern Areas (PDCN) Library, the first educational automated library of the northern areas of Pakistan, is providing excellent services and facilities to fulfill the information needs of its clients. A central part of PDCN, it provides resources to support the institute's professional programmes and is selectively open to others. The library provides the facility of mobile library service to Whole School Improvement Programmes (WSIP) schools for teachers and students.

A range of resources in print and electronic form are available. It has 18,000 books, selective thesis and subscribed journals with full-text access. A collection of reference books, audio-video cassettes, CDs/DVDs and an internal online digital system is also available.

The library has six computers with internet facility. The circulation system is also computerised for efficient transactions of library materials.
