3rd Annual Emergency Medicine Conference

Theme: Emergency Care for Children
The Annual Emergency Medicine Conference (AEMC) is emerging as a well-recognised national and regional event in South Asia. The 3rd AEMC 2013 will focus on emergency care for children, which will be the first ever conference in Pakistan, on this theme.
The conference will also help in building partnerships and collaborations with different health care providers and public health professionals for future development of pediatric emergency medicine. The Department of Continuing Professional Education offers 7 AKU-DCPE Category-1 credits for this conference.
Aim of the Conference
The aim of the Conference is to review recent advances in emergency care of critically ill and injured children. Specifically, this year's conference will focus on:
- highlighting research and training needs in paediatric emergency medicine
- identifying health system challenges in implementing and establishing emergency care for children
- enhancing community preparedness and prevention for acute paediatric illnesses and injuries.

Who should attend?
The conference will provide an opportunity for paediatric emergency physicians, paediatricians, emergency physicians, internal medicine, general and family practitioners, public health professionals, policy makers and students to gain knowledge regarding advances in the science of pediatric emergency medicine.
Workshops
Pre- and post-conference workshops are aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills in Critical US in Paediatric EM, Resuscitation of Critically Ill Child, Paediatric Procedural sedation, Paediatric Toxicology and WHO injury prevention workshop etc. Read more.
