Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this seminar the participant should be able to:

  • Understand the difference between critical and egotistical thinking;
  • Read an article or a book by using intellectual standards;
  • Write an article by using elements of reasoning;
  • Take his/her thinking at a higher level where he/she uses logic and empirical data to support his/her conclusions;
  • Improve his/her communication skills and decision making powers.

Dr Taseer Hussain
Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences

Dr. Taseer’s research work is related to Evolutionary Biology, Climate Change and Human Health, Science Policy and Public
understanding of Science. He has over 70 research papers in paleobiology, geology, and global warming, which have been published
in international journals such as Nature and Science. He has an excellent record of obtaining research grants. He has been invited to
international scientific conferences to speak about human health and global climate changes. He has been conducting workshops on
critical thinking in institutions in the United States and Europe. Dr. Hussain brings the critical thinking knowledge and problem
based learning to the gross anatomy laboratory where students learn through hands on experience.
