Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to:

• Appreciate the complex nature of the Temporo-mandibular joint system and problems associated with it
• Better understand , possibly diagnose and even primarily manage, TMJ dislocation and TMJ Dysfunction associated facial pain
• Be aware of factors relating to TMJ Ankylosis; intercept and refer potential patients before irreversible damage and changes take place

Dr Mervyn Hosein is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Founder Secretary of the Dental Faculty of the CPSP. After developing Pakistan’s first CPSP accredited OMFS department at Dow Medical, he joined Hamdard University to head its dental school . His surgical interests include head and neck trauma, oral cancer and cranio-facial surgery for which he is one of the pioneers in Pakistan. Currently he is President of the Pakistan Association of OMFS. He has lectured and presented extensively here and abroad on a wide range of oral pathology and surgery problems in Pakistan.
