DetailsThis research seminar is based on a study conducted by AKU-IED in 2012 under a USAID Teacher Education Project. The project included a six-month certificate of education course, where 27 elementary teacher education college personnel (Principals, vice principals and potential faculty for managerial cadre) from public sector from across the country participated. The main purpose of the study was to gain an insight about the leadership practices of the course participants. The primary findings of the study indicate that the principals’ perceptions of their roles and responsibilities rotate mostly around the axis of ‘control’ of their organisation and its smooth functioning.
