Library Skills Development

​​Designed  for academic librarians, this course examines the changing nature and impact of the changes in the field of Information Communications Technology. Information management and retrieval tools, such as Integrated Library System, Machine Readable Catalogue (MARC), portals, e-journals and e-book databases, have changed the ways librarians used to manage in the past. Continuing professional education is essential for librarians to update themselves with the changing technology and its impact over the changing information services for providing high-quality personalized information services to the users. 

Join this exciting course to learn more about MARC and its application, role of integrated library system, librarian’s changing role in improving reading habits of the users, and the concept and application of knowledge management.

The course aims to develop capacity of academic librarians for:
  • remaining acquainted with changing ICT and manage its impact on information services.
  • taking advantage of technological advancement to adopt smart information management and dissemination tools.
