Expression of Interest
Prequalification of Consulting Firms
Aga Khan University, working in eight countries, is planning several large-scale developments on its campuses and teaching sites in Pakistan, Afghanistan and East Africa.
To meet these challenges, AKU is looking for highly qualified and experienced consulting firms.
The selected firms will have the opportunity to work on exciting high-tech healthcare, research and education building projects, liaising with an international firm who are the principal architect responsible for the master planning and initial design, as well as project oversight.
We are developing a shortlist of design consultants who can be requested to develop the detailed designs and oversee the construction of these projects. Individual projects can range in size from 50,000 to 150,000 sq. ft.; with modifications to existing facilities where required.
We are seeking expressions of interest from firms in the following disciplines:
- Architecture
- Structure
- Electrical (including IT and communication)
- Lighting
- Mechanical (including HVAC, plumbing and medical gases)
- Interior design
- Graphics and signage
- Landscaping and external work
- Cost and quantity surveying
The consultants are requested to submit the following:
Company details (year of establishment, ownership type)
Company hierarchal structure with resumes of principals and key employees
Past projects details
List of projects in hand
Client references
Official certifications
National Tax Number
Evidence of financial stability
All information requested must be provided in order to be considered "responsive" to the requirements of prequalification.

A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on a project by project basis. Firms may be required to team-up with shortlisted firms from the various disciplines.
