Aga Khan University School of Nursing held its 27th Lamp Lighting Ceremony to commemorate the 188th birthday of Florence Nightingale

Aga Khan University School of Nursing held its 27th Lamp Lighting Ceremony to commemorate the 188th birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. On this occasion, 112 nurses from BScN and RN Diploma programmes took their pledge to honour the international code of nursing ethics and to uphold the integrity of the professional nurse. The ceremony is held worldwide in nursing schools as an annual tribute to Florence Nightingale. AKU-SON, as the initiator of this annual event in this part of the world, reaffirms its pledge of bringing and maintaining the profession to the benchmark set by the first Muslim nurse Rufayda Al Aslamiya and in later times, by Florence Nightingale.
