Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I extend a very warm invitation to you to join us at the 1st Critical Care Symposium to be held in Karachi, Pakistan from November 25-27, 2005.

Aga Khan University has a tradition of organizing educational activities on various health care issues relevant to Pakistan and the region in particular. In continuation of its effort to disseminate information, the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in collaboration with Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Department of Medicine & Critical Care Nursing, Aga Khan University Hospital is organizing a symposium on "Critical Care Issues and Management. A requisite of the new millennium in the developing world".

The objectives will be to discuss Critical Care health challenges in Pakistan and the developing world. It will provide opportunities for specialists in critical care to present their work; critique current ideas and develop collaborative ventures that could help formulate Critical Care policies and protocols.

The meeting will create a forum for open discussion; devise new ways of looking at the future, and set specific goals that can be achieved. We hope to present new opportunities, experience and technology application in the field.
