Aga Khan University (AKU) Medical College won the AKU Football
Tournament 2002 by 3-0 goals against Dow Medical College.
It was a tough match as none of the teams could score against each
other in the designated time limit (35 minutes each half). Even
in the additional time of 15 minutes the teams could not score,
leaving the match to be decided on penalty kicks, in which AKU Medical
College outscored its opponent by three goals.
Other teams taking
part in the tournament included Baqai University, Hamdard University,
and College of Business Management. The tournament was played on
league-basis.
Dr. Robert Maudsley,
Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, AKU, distributed prizes to the
winners and runner-up. Man of the Tournament title was awarded to
Fahad Shuja of AKU and the Golden Boot Award to Faraz of Baqai University.
