AKU Research and Policy Dialogue on Curriculum Review and Reforms

Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development is organising a research and policy dialogue on 'Curriculum Review and Reforms' in Peshawar on January 29-30, 2003.

The objectives of this dialogue are to provide a forum to share current trends and practices of curriculum development, implementation and assessment, exchange initiatives being taken by the public and the private sectors, broaden conceptions regarding curriculum and recognize the influence it has over teaching and learning, suggest and critique possible ways forward; and form a network for exchanging experiences and lessons and providing such information for curriculum reform and policy formulation.

Participants will include curriculum and textbook developers and the examination board from the private sector and from federal, provincial and district levels in the government, as well as implementers such as teachers and head teachers from public and private sectors, representatives of NGOs and Education Foundations and other stakeholders.

This programme is fourth in a series of five dialogues on key issues in education. Three policy dialogues on Teacher Education, Decentralisation in Education and Effective Resource Utilisation through Public-Private Partnership in Education were held in Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta in April, July and October 2002, respectively.
