Aga Khan University Institute
for Educational Development is organising a research and policy
dialogue on 'Curriculum Review and Reforms' in Peshawar on January 29-30,
2003.
The objectives of this dialogue are
to provide a forum to share current trends and practices of curriculum development,
implementation and assessment, exchange initiatives being taken by the public
and the private sectors, broaden conceptions regarding curriculum and recognize
the influence it has over teaching and learning, suggest and critique possible
ways forward; and form a network for exchanging experiences and lessons and
providing such information for curriculum reform and policy formulation.
Participants will include curriculum
and textbook developers and the examination board from the private sector and
from federal, provincial and district levels in the government, as well as implementers
such as teachers and head teachers from public and private sectors, representatives
of NGOs and Education Foundations and other stakeholders.
This programme is fourth in a series
of five dialogues on key issues in education. Three policy dialogues
on Teacher Education, Decentralisation in Education and Effective
Resource Utilisation through Public-Private Partnership in Education
were held in Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta in April, July and October
2002, respectively.
