Greeting Cards 2007-2008

A key philanthropic mission of Aga Khan University Hospital is to ensure its services are accessible to people from all walks of life and all economic levels. To make this possible a Patient Welfare Programme was established in 1986, funded through income from donor endowments, annual charitable giving by Hospital well-wishers and revenue generated in volunteer-run shops. Since its inception, the Programme has distributed Rs. 2 billion to help pay the costs of quality medical care for over 300,000 indigent patients. In the last year alone, over Rs. 260 million has been spent caring for patients in need.

To keep pace with ever-increasing demand for patient welfare funds, and to supplement income generated from other sources, an annual Greeting Cards Campaign was started in 1988. Professional and amateur artists were asked to donate their creative works to the Patient Welfare cause so that cards catering to a range of interests and events could be printed and sold. For 20 years, with the patronage of corporations and individuals alike, this outstanding campaign has flourished and we are grateful for your support. Through your generosity the Programme will be able to assist financially challenged patients receive high quality medical care at the Hospital

This year we bring you another exciting collection of over 40 original designs donated by talented artists. Either through pre-printed messages, or through the insertion of your own salutations suited to the occasion, these cards are an ideal means of celebrating special events and anniversaries. On sale throughout the year, your selection of an AKUH greeting card reflects your good taste and personal commitment to helping the less fortunate enjoy the benefits of quality health care.
