The Ambulatory care services, in collaboration with the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, is developing a series of classes for the mother/family to assist them in providing the best possible opportunities for the healthy development of their child.
Overview of a Weaning Diet
Adequate nutrition is vital to one's health and well-being and is a significant factor in the growth and development of young children.
The class addresses areas of concern and interest to mothers prior to weaning their child from breastfeeding to a normal healthy diet.
Parents will be invited to actively participate in identifying their learning needs and interest.
Topics include:
- Importance of starting a weaning diet
- Basic principles of a weaning diet
- Recommended age for weaning
- Foods which may cause allergies
- Recipes
Classes are held on the second
Saturday of every month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
