Overview
Aga Khan University Hospital has a well-equipped diagnostic radiology department with equipment available for X-rays, ultrasound and special procedures such as MRI, Peripheral Angiography, CT Scanning, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Orthopantomography.
The Department of Radiology is well-equipped to cater to the needs of a variety of patients with a vast array of radiological procedures. Round the clock service serves the needs of inpatients, outpatients and outside referrals by providing the best possible and modern diagnostic facilities in the main Radiology department as well as in its off-campus facility.
As a service provider, we provide vital underpinning of almost all the clinical specialties, but as experts in the field, we also have the responsibility of initiating and promoting change.
Committed to quality service and following the current trend and need of time, the department is moving towards film less radiology and is now equipped with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Voice Recognition System (VRS). Our general radiography procedures inclusive of IVP and Fluoro are carried out on Computed Radiography system (CR) which has minimised the patient waiting time, radiation dose, report turnaround time, film rejection rate and film loss, and easing simultaneous viewing of images by multiple users and increased throughput.
