AKU-EB facilitates Subject Panels workshops
Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) facilitated a series of subject panel's workshops focusing in Science and Languages in February 2008.
Subject Panels are the key quality assurance mechanism for AKU-EB. The panels comprised of a cross section of educational stakeholders belonging to Universities, Colleges, Schools and Freelancers from all across Pakistan. Subject panels normally meet twice a year to review each subject examination after the publication of results. This review is informed by:
- The chief examiner's report;
- A question by question statistical report of candidate;
- Mark schemes;
- Classification of the cognitive level of each mark to be checked against the examination specification in the syllabus.
Subject Panels also review items and questions for inclusion in the subject item bank; identify syllabus areas in need of additional support through e.g. assessment units and also exceptionally make recommendations for a complete or partial syllabus review to be undertaken by the subject panel.
